With Oma, you can explore the benefits of a proprietary AI process called Oma Sperm InSight, egg freezing, frozen embryo transfer, and IVF with donor eggs. The Oma team is led by expert physicians who specialize in helping women overcome significant fertility obstacles to achieve their dreams of building a family. The basics
Formerly branded as Dadi Sperm Kit and later acquired by Ro Health, the Ro Sperm Kit offers an accessible at-home male fertility assessment. This eliminates the need for a visit to a medical facility or clinic.
Given the statistical data on male fertility, men account for approximately 35% of reported infertility issues among couples. While numerous tools exist for women to evaluate and monitor their fertility, there’s a rising demand for male-centric solutions. Thankfully, advancements like the Ro Sperm Kit are bridging this gap, providing men with a discreet and effective way to gauge their reproductive health.
Using the Ro Sperm Kit is straightforward:
- Purchase: Order the kit online.
- Sample Collection: Provide a sperm sample using the kit.
- Delivery: Send your sample to the lab using a UPS Ship center.
- Results: Receive a comprehensive report within 48 hours of the lab receiving your sample.
- Storage: Benefit from cryogenic storage of viable sperm samples at a Ro Health facility, complimentary for the initial year.
To select the right clinic for your fertility care, you should be able to recognize best practices in fertility services. Understanding how and why fertility is happening, and what available fertility treatments are out there, is a great first step. We've outlined some basics here for you.

The facts about Infertility
Understanding Infertility in Women
Infertility due solely to women’s factors occurs about one-third of the time. According to Mayo Clinic, problems with reproductive hormones or problems in the ovary can result in ovulation disorders such as PCOS, hypothalamic dysfunction, primary ovarian insufficiency, or too much prolactin. Fertility challenges can also result from damage to the fallopian tubes, endometriosis, or cervical concerns.
In some cases, infertility can be treated through surgery or medication, but many patients turn to artificial insemination or IVF to start a family. More recently, there have been significant discoveries in efficiently freezing eggs. One study published in Science Daily found that 70% of women who froze eggs before age 38 and thawed at least 20 eggs later could successfully have a baby. Many women even went on to have more than one child. Conversely, less than 40% of women were successful when trying to conceive at 40 and using live eggs for IVF. So, it’s essential to visit your fertility clinicians to explore if egg freezing may be a good fit for you.
Understanding Infertility in Men
Infertility due to male factors or a combination of male/female factors is common, yet it is not as widely discussed. Infertility in men can be caused by abnormal sperm production or function, low motility, problems with sperm delivery, or damage related to cancer or environmental factors.
Mayo Clinic suggests there are viable options to address male infertility, such as surgery, hormone treatments, medications, and assisted reproductive technology.
Additionally, couples planning to wait to conceive may want to investigate the benefits of sperm freezing. Doing so can curb birth risks associated with advanced paternal age, such as congenital disabilities, autism, and childhood cancers.
Fertility services that were founded by a person need are, in our experience, very well thought out and oriented to the customer.
The history of Oma Fertility history
Oma Fertility is founder-led
Oma was founded to help couples overcome fertility challenges. Oma’s founders were looking to reinvent care, reduce financial burdens, and increase success rates. Their own personal encounters pushed them to create a clinic that would improve the fertility journey for couples.
Because the tech for IVF had hardly evolved in three decades, the founders saw an opportunity to advance medical fertility practices. Merging three successful career backgrounds, the founders recognized the value AI tech could bring to fertility care. And so, Oma was born, along with the proprietary AI microscope and Oma Sperm Insight technology that helps couples get optimal results in fewer cycles.
The Science of Oma Fertility
Oma Fertility uses the latest science
Infertility is not just a female issue. In fact, male factors cause 40-50% of fertility cases. And while women have a limited supply of eggs, science has developed methods to help identify healthy eggs. This means we’re already using healthy eggs for IVF. So, to improve efficiency in the IVF process, improvements needed to be made in selecting optimal sperm.
An average sperm sample has 100 million cells, but only a fraction is high-quality enough to fertilize the egg successfully. Picking the most promising sperm cells can increase the chances of successful pregnancy and reduce the number of IVF cycles a couple may face. This is where Oma’s technology is most recognized.
You’re seeking the best fertility clinic to make your dream of having a family a reality. And in our opinion, Oma fits the bill. Oma stands out because of their ethical pricing, innovative approach, proprietary AI technology, and patient-centered care. Plus, unlike other clinics, Oma’s pricing includes wrap-around services needed for treatment – such as consultations, blood work, and ultrasounds. If your only barrier is location, remember, Oma will go the extra mile in supporting your journey. Schedule an intro call to learn more.
The science of Oma
Oma Fertility uses five key technologies
Oma Microscope with Sperm InSight
Using criteria from the World Health Organization, an optimal sperm cell is selected for IVF by using Oma’s Sperm InSight process. Sperm InSight is an innovative approach that uses an AI microscope, which can analyze 20 times more sperm than a traditional scope. This technology can mean the difference in a couple’s success rate and financial investment.
ICSI
The Oma fertility IVF process is conducted using the ICSI technique, where one sperm is introduced to an egg cell. Because of the Sperm InSight technology, the ICSI process is 72% effective, which outpaces traditional clinics that usually garner a 60% success rate.
The IVF journey at Oma begins with fertility testing and diagnosis, followed by care coordination and financial consultation. Oma’s approach supports couples in planning for their emotional and financial investments. From there, medical practices begin with pre-IVF hormonal preparation, followed by the stimulation of egg production. Once ovulating, the egg is retrieved, and the optimal sperm is selected. Fertilization is then performed in Oma’s state-of-the-art lab, and specialists closely monitor embryo development. When it is time to transfer the embryo, the doctor will guide you through options to select a transfer process most likely to yield a successful pregnancy. Following the transfer, you will take medications to support the early stages of pregnancy. After taking a pregnancy test to determine the successful implantation of an embryo, any high-quality embryos that are left can be frozen by vitrification to be used in the future.
Egg Freezing
This method saves eggs to preserve a woman’s ability to get pregnant in the future.
Frozen Embryo Transfer
A final step in the IVF process, the frozen embryo transfer, garners considerable attention because it increases chances of a successful pregnancy while minimizing the potential for multiple births. Expert embryologists attend to your embryos and skillfully determine the grade.
IVF with Donor Eggs
Sometimes, a woman’s eggs are not viable, so a thoroughly vetted egg donor may be used in the IVF process. Some reasons why an egg might not be viable include:
- Tissue regeneration after heart attack or stroke
- Diabetes
- Immune system and blood repopulation after chemotherapy or radiation
- Immune system disorders
- Genetic disorders
- Some types of cancer

Reviews from around the web
We like to balance our review with other reviews around the web. Our experience isn’t everyone’s experience. Here are a few more data points to help you make an informed decision to take the next step.
I didn't think my wife and I had a fertility issue until frolicking and fun, spontaneous or planned well in advanced didn’t result in any close calls. Ultimately, we had a long discussion about wanting children and wondering why, after nearly 10yrs of marriage (and frolicking) that it hadn’t happen.
We both went to our respective primary care doctors and were each told “there is no health reason you can’t have children”. This is where my wife and I were very fortunate to find Dr. Rychlik. He sent us to get additional lab test (for both me and my wife), followed by an honest assessment of getting pregnant naturally. We are an older couple, I’m older than my wife and she is now in her early 40’s. It turns out that being healthy, in every way, including her uterus and the motility of my sperm…doesn’t guarantee pregnancy…and those odds drop every day we get older. After more conversation with Dr Rychlik we decided to put our trust in him and go the IVF route.
The IVF process doesn’t ask much of me…my wife has been the epicenter of it; all the shots, the mood swings, the pain…it’s not easy. However, I couldn’t imagine going through IVF with any other doctor than Dr. Rychlik and his entire team. He is clear and precise about what he expect from you as a patient; you have to follow the protocols exactly. Also, his team is also clean, and empathetic; they certainly imparted a high level of positive energy, empathy and kindness in particular during egg retrieval and the days following successful implant. We are in our 3rd trimester and have had a relatively worry free 1st and 2nd trimester because all the advice Dr Rychlik gave us; in particular genetic testing of the embryos for viability. Based on how many eggs were retrieved versus how many were viable; it’s clear to me why we didn’t have any accidents; if left to ours own devices we wouldn’t be expecting. Dr Rychlik (and his team) made all the difference. I think IVF could be among the most significant endeavors my wife and I have ever undertaken (separately or as a couple), made easier by Dr. Rychlik’s leadership, precision and sound practical advice. I can’t say enough good things, I can literally go on and on.
Customer, Age 51-52
Dr. Rychlik has a very deep understanding of the process. He is in fact very updated on the latest developments in the field. He explained how the embryology lab is an important, if not the most important part of the fertility treatment and how his lab was the most state-of-the-art lab in the city. He was super compassionate, he is extremely funny and that made me very comfortable throughout my journey. He is a super start and Santa Barbara is lucky to have a physician of this quality.

From scheduling the first consultation all the way through graduating to my OBGYN after a successful transfer the whole team was warm, welcoming, and helpful. Struggling with infertility is hard- you'll go to a lot of clinics were you are just treated like another number. Oma Fertility offers personalized care. Dr. Dan makes you feel at ease and that he is really dedicated to helping you grow your family- he makes sure to listen to your concerns; he doesn't just rush you in and out of the office. Allison and Betty are great and are always just a phone call or email away and they are prompt when answering any questions or to relieve any anxiety you may have with your calendar or medications. I've also never met an ultrasound tech like Olesya- she's truly amazing. She explodes with enthusiasm and compassion from your first baseline ultrasound all the way through to hearing your baby's heartbeat for the first time. Meghan was a pleasure to work with while discussing all the financials regarding all the procedures- she was sure to be thorough making sure nothing became a surprise in the end. Overall I highly recommend Oma Fertility and I plan to do another round of IVF with them in the future.
